Close up of the blocks. The quilt is quilted with a trombone pantograph designed by Dave Hudson. It has the trombones set on a diagonal so it is very difficult to free-hand the diagonal straight lines. I will avoid ever using this one again. The quilting thread is YLI Variations in Thunder, a great black/gray variegated thread. The bobbin thread is So Fine in black. Since this quilt is going to a college, I quilted the last row with his name, hometown and graduation year. Instead of a label, I signed directly on the quilt. The quilting and the signature provides two methods of identification that can't be removed.
