Several years ago my friend and I decided that we wanted to have a pattern for a fast and easy quilt that we could use for making gift quilts. This is what we came up with and we've made dozens of them!
We created this PDF tutorial that includes lap and queen sized quilts. This is a fat quarter friendly pattern.
