It was nice to be out and about yesterday even though it was pouring rain. I had lunch with my cousin and took Mary shopping. She's made great progress on her recovery since I saw her last week. I didn't get a lot of sewing or quilting done yesterday but I made a little progress.
Quilting is progressing. I really put the death grip on the handles when I am quilting so after an hour I have to take a break. I'm not making fast progress but I have advanced a row.
Thank goodness I can sew while watching TV. Otherwise the hour I spent watching Project Runway last night would have been a complete and total waste. Actually it wasn't a total waste. I now have my new all-purpose catch phrase: "I'll always believe in unicorns". How in the world did Timothy get on that show in the first place?
Anyway, I got some cornerstone blocks done for the kaleidoscope quilt. 16 more to go.
While I had one set of GC blocks out I decided to get the other out too and figure out how much fabric I need to dye.
This was the original layout that I worked up in EQ. When I decided to put it on my design wall I accidentally switched the placement for the pink and green. That was good because it confirmed my original layout. The final quilt will have an extra row of blocks to make it long enough for a quilt for one of the twin beds in the guest house. Also the green sashing will be 1/2" wide. The EQ file shows it at 1". The pink will be 1.5". The background is the Sea and Sky gradient. I'll get these fabrics dyed this week.
Our UK friends, Ian and Laura, are coming in tonight for the week. Ian will work but Laura and I will hang out. I'm not sure how much quilting I will get done but I'll have fun.
My focus for the weekend will be the feather quilting and the kaleidoscope cornerstones.
