Since I finished Anne’s quilts I have decided to tackle a few of the veteran’s quilts that I have here. The next quilt I quilt for myself is going to take a while so I’ll spend this week knocking out as many veteran’s quilts as I can and each one will be quilted FAST. Here are 2 I did this weekend.
This one was made from crumb blocks. Becky gives out a block each month for members to make. They return them and someone puts them together in a top. The crumb blocks were from one of those monthly collections. She handed out some fabrics so that there would be a little bit of cohesion with the blocks.
This one quilted up really fast with a continuous curve motif.
Continuous curve motifs always make for great patterns on the back.
This one had me stumped for a while. All that white space intimidated me a bit. I knew that I wanted to do something linear because it would be fast. My favorite thing to do in these quilts is to figure out a way to “pimp my line”. For this one I took the cue from the pinwheel blocks.
It’s simple soft wavy lines pimped with pinwheels. I was bold and used a variegated thread with turquoise, lime and cerulean. It’s very beachy looking.
