I admit I've been stressing over this. I haven't started my Series project or my Big Dream project because this has been hanging over my head. It had a deadline of February 4 and I was struggling with what to do. I don't often make "art" quilts and almost never make small quilts and this had to be both.
I decided that I needed to finally break into my private stash of shibori fabrics and in the end I had a blast making this over the past couple of weeks. There was a lot of contemplation time involved but I'm thrilled with the end result. I didn't know I had this in me.
9" x 17"
It's made with 6 pieces of shibori and I spent a lot of time deciding where to seam the pieces so that I could get some continuity of pattern across seam lines. It worked out well.
The quilting follows the shibori pattern and I also used the thread colors to tie the different fabrics together.
So why the rush to get this done?
