Glass class was Wednesday morning and I spent all of my time either sand blasting or sawing. Sandblasting is a lot of fun! Sawing isn’t bad either but it’s really noisy and wet. Glass has to be cut on a wet tile saw with a diamond blade. I didn’t get all of my bars cut but I got these done.
This was the bar that I made with black scraps layered with red, oranges and yellow scraps. They will all be shiny after they are fired again but you can get and idea of what they will look like from the one that I spit on….because I was too lazy to walk across the room to get water.
This was my first bar made with even layers. I wasn’t thrilled with this one so I cut it into big chunks. I’m going to arrange them in a tile mold and fire them again. The colors would spread more as the pieces flatten out. What did I not like about it? IT’s that double layer of dark in the middle that annoys me.
The other “V” mold. I really, really love these. There’s a mix of opaque and transparent in purples and golds.
My friend Estelle brought me this gift! They recently got a new dishwasher and this is from the broken one.
