It turns out that the screen printed tablecloth is a bigger project that I estimated. That’s a real shocker isn’t it?
I have a pretty large print surface so I can do a section as large as that surface and then have to let that section dry before I move on. Yesterday I printed the entire center while Estelle printed a ton of things. The center was done in three sessions. Today I’ll start on the outer edge and that’s where the big screens will com into play. I’ll spend my drying sessions doing some quilting.
In between screen sessions yesterday I worked on the kiln. I applied kiln wash to all of my slumping molds and slumped the first batch of pieces. I’ll have photos of those next week.
For now, here are the 2 newest fishes for the school. That one has kind of a big rear end but we all can’t have model figures! Shirley asked if I had given up on the wall. The answer is NO! I’ve been side tracked a bit with the classes I’m attending and teaching but I have a couple of new sections started so expect fresh updates on the wall next week.
Here's another sneak peek at my new beach inspired soap dish. I'm quite excited about this one!
Tomorrow Estelle and I are heading to the Virginia Quilt Museum for our annual volunteer day and to attend a Carol Bryer Fallert-Gentry lecture. They have her 30 in 30 exhibit in the museum and we are really looking forward to seeing it.
