I would like to say I started on my big dream quilt of hand pieced hexies in snowflake and star fabrics, but no. My life just isn't there right now.

Instead, maybe I'll convince myself to start hand quilting my Tell it to the Stars. Everything comes before hand quilting these days, but I really want this quilt to be beautiful on my bed, and I'd like to hand quilt it. The supplies are being gathered in my little sewing box, and next I need to figure out how to keep the thimbles handy but out of John's reach!

I have two posts to share.
Since learning to weave on a floor loom I have wanted to learn to make my own warp. http://blog.geneblack.com/2015/02/february-update.html

I have also wanted to get a spinning wheel and learn to spin my own yarn. http://blog.geneblack.com/2015/02/bricks-cobblestones-and-pebbles-quilt.html

My dreams are coming true and it is gloriously happy and fun.

My big dream project right now is reducing the size of the junk in my trunk! Does that count?

I have to quilt up some (ok, a lot) of UFO's before I can let myself start another Big Project. So, I started small. Two lap-size UFO's quilted and am starting on the quilting for my third one today. I hope to get it done this week.

Vicki - the mosaic wall project looks most intriguing! You just amaze me!!

And that symmetry quilt -- I love!

I've actually made some progress on my 'sane' quilt project that I've been dreading (fear of the unknown and all that). I had to cut a ton of 2 1/2" strips for the pattern and luckily my friend had been there and done that and discovered a handy-dandy ruler cutting aid that made it so easy. Strips are cut and ready to go!!

I like to use some of those fabrics you mentioned (silks, wools, trims, etc) on fabric postcards. That might be a use for them, since you like to make postcards too.

Hurray for organizing and eliminating! I'll claim those as you say, Road Blocks!

I'm moving my sewing from one room to another and in the process finding homes for UFOs that I will just never finish. I'm trying to be realistic on what I have time for, and let's say 'picky' about what I'm moving into new space. I still am sewing but its all for a local quilt shop. I'm hoping to get to my big dream projects once cleaned out and settled in.

You mosaic wall is going to be fabulous!

One dream leads to another. This has been such a great idea and articulating what is in the heart and mind has been illuminating!
