I'm plugging away and so are a few others! I'm so happy to have some company on this path. I only have one set of blocks left to make. Next I need to trim all of the and then I can start putting it all together. I'm hoping to get a lot of time with this over the holidays. We will only have one more link up on the 26th and then I'll draw a winner from all of the participating links on all of the posts.
Wednesday night I watched White Christmas (campiest Christmas movie ever) and played in EQ so hang with me while I post my design process for that session.
I started by designing this block.
I started with a straight set and as I type this I'm thinking it would probably look better on point. I don't dislike it but can't imagine piecing that many small DP blocks again. How would it look with just the 7" DP block?
I like this better.
How about adding an alternate block?
More interesting but I don't like the giant "X" so I switched the blocks.
Better. Now let's play with color.
Toned down is better for me. It reminds me of my Woodlands palette.
Woodlands Palette with Forest Canopy Border.
Woodlands Palette with Woodlands Gradient.
I like both of these and I could see making one of them some day.
