We had the most fabulous weekend at the river. Anne and Dale hosted their wedding at their river house and it was perfect. The weather was perfect, the food was amazing and the wind was calm so we could set off the fireworks that Chris and I bought in South Carolina in July. One of Dale's friends even bought more fireworks.
Chris didn't want anything to do with setting off fireworks so here's Jamie and I planning out what we were going to do. Jamie is Kim's husband. Mostly I'm showing this photo so you can see the dyed skirt in action. I'm not particularly fond of the shirt but it was the best I could find at the time but I love the skirt and will have an opportunity to wear it again in a few weeks.
Obviously there wasn't anything happening in the sewing front. I was too busy eating, drinking and having fun. But I did sort of finish 2 projects last week.
When I started the HSTeria project in April I was in a cutting frenzy and decided to cut up my stash of Dr. Seuss fabric. I created 2 baby quilt kits. One is tumblers and the other is made of 6" HST blocks. While Laura was here she was looking for fabric for a baby quilt. She was happy to take both of these kits! I even had 2 big pieces of flannel for backs.
Yeah! An empty shelf spot!
I think this week I will be starting on my lace sunprint placemats and continuing plowing through quilting the large stack of veterans quilts. Check out what everyone else is doing at Patchwork Times.
