Sometimes I feel guilty for not leaving the house all weekend but when I get to spend the weekend doing what I want I get over it. I had a great weekend that sort of started Thursday when Estelle and I were sun printing. I got my inspiration late in the afternoon and then the clouds came in so I finished up my sun printing projects Friday. I'll have all those photos edited and ready to share tomorrow.
I also prepped a shirt for dyeing. This is a skirt that I'm wearing to an outdoor wedding next week. I'm stenciling designs along the hem with Color Magic and will dye it later this week.
I finally got back to playing with glass. I'm still working on the quilt sun catcher but also had some time to use some scrap glass for a couple of soap dishes.
I loaded my Allegiance QOV quilt and started quilting it. For the next few weeks I'll have a lot of veterans quilts and my own quilts to share. I have a lot of quilts that need fast quilting and I'm going to get as many done as I can over the next 4 - 6 weeks. Why? Because in 4 - 6 weeks I'll be getting my new Innova quilting machine. Willie has been a great machine for me. With the new Bliss systems is moves incredibly smoothly and it's great for all-over quilting. But it doesn't have the control that I want for quilting in small areas and doing ruler work. I remembered trying an Innova machine at a show a few years ago and being really impressed. I found out that Virginia Longarm carries Innova so I went there about a month ago to test drive one and fell in love. After that it was only a matter of talking myself into it. I ordered it today!
My goal is to get all of the veterans quilts and my own "all-over" quilts done before the Innova arrives so I can jump right in to one of me custom quilts. But today I need to iron and post some new fabrics in the shop so while I do that check out what everyone else is doing at Patchwork Times.
