I'm trying to spend as much time as possible quilting on Willie so that limits my piecing time but these blocks are just perfect for 15 minute sewing breaks.
I got another 100 blocks put together this week. That's a total of 400 and I think I have about 250 to go. Of course I won't get any done this weekend but I am hopeful for another 100 next week and to get the rest done the following week.
I'm still working through some design ideas for the "pretty" quilt.
This week I played around with this block configuration. This one offers more design possibilities than last week's.
This is a straight set - not very interesting.
But rotate alternate blocks and you are on to something. I don't know why but this has a Asian feel to me.
This would be nice for my pretty quilt except that the pretty quilt has a 6 x 8 layout so there would be half squares on the side.
This is kind of fun. I can picture it in African prints paired with black. I'd probably orient it pointing up instead of down.
This starburst effect could possibly be the center I need for the ugly quilt.
This is cool and I could easily do this for the pretty quilt. I'll keep this one in mind.
Next I wanted to add another block and picked the same arrow block that I used last week.
I could change that one triangle and this pattern could be called "Just Relax" because it looks like a field of lounge chairs!
OK, that's enough of that.
For those interested in joining here's some basic info:
- There are no rules, your project just has to use half square triangles, it doesn't have to be exclusively HST blocks.
- Post your progress in your photo sharing site or blog or website and link up here.
- Grab the link button code on the left if you want to put it on your own site.
- I'll draw a winner each Friday for a selection of hand dyed scrap fabrics.
I hope you'll join the fun!
