I am happy to report that had a freakishly productive weekend! I finished the Woodland Star quilt top (that I will share in a few days), I finished some postcards and I finished my kitchen floor mats.
I took this photo and then 3 hours later had to take them up. We discovered that the polyurethane that we used needs about 7 days to fully cure. Of course we discovered it the hard way by seeing that a drop of water spotted the mat. It's my fault for making Chris go with a different kind of poly but I think they will be OK in another week.
Once I have them down for good I'll do a detailed post about the process in an attempt to sway anyone else from ever making floor mats with decoupaged fabric. It's a royal PITA, especially with 9 foot long runners.......2 of them.
I know I will like them and they should last for many years but I should have painted them instead.
It was so nice to finish a few projects but that led to the dangerous path of thinking about next projects. First I need to do something with the scraps from Woodland Star and I need to get caught up on some quilting on Willie. I hope I can convince myself not to start another big quilting project for a few months.
HA! As if!
