When I got Willie I started slowly building a stockpile of thread. I love having a lot of thread colors to choose from when I'm ready to quilt. Nothing is more annoying than being ready to start a project and not having everything you need. I have a wall full of King Tut, Rainbows, So Fine and Bottom Line threads.
When I started the current quilt I knew that I didn't want the thread to show. I only wanted texture. That meant that I needed a medium value thin thread. So Fine is my go-to thread for that.
I pulled out all of my beiges and was lucky to have a wide variety. The surprise was that the perfect thread was this hideous baby poo greenish beige. All of the others were just too harsh but that slight green cast was just the right thread. I remember when I bought it that I thought I'd never use it!
I'm making great progress! Remember that I started in the middle. Last night I finished the top half.
I've rolled it back to the middle and am ready to start the bottom half. I think this quilt (bedspread really) is going to look great in the guest room assuming I ever get it bound.
