The big news around here is that I have put the last stitch into my quilt for Benartex for Paula Nadelstern's new fabric line, Palindromes. I can't show the quilt or the fabrics but here's a photo of the templates that I used for my quilt. I'm happy to have it done a week ahead of schedule!
I had set a goal of finishing the quilting Wednesday so that I could take Thursday off to go to the Sewing and Craft Expo in Fredericksburg. Mom came up and we spent the afternoon walking around the Expo. It's not a huge show but it's a nice show and I bought some new scissors. One pair is to replace this broken blue scissor. These belonged to my Grandma Ottaway. She probably bought them in the early 80's because that's when she was into quilting. They will be retired permanently now.
Now that the big project is done I'm finding myself sort of wandering around now. I need to get back to my usual schedule and habits. I think I will start by getting these donation quilts loaded and quilt them up quickly with a meander. The backing (gold fabric) is big enough for both quilts. I only have to load the backing and batting once so I should be able to get both of these done this week.
It's also time to get started on my holiday fabric postcards so I think I'll see what I can do with these prints to turn them into postcards.
While I get myself back in gear go check out what everyone else is doing at Patchwork Times.
