I finally got back to working on my Horizon series postcards this weekend. My goal is to make at least 25 in the series. The first 4 are here. Of course these are all inspired my the work of Monika Kinner-Whalen. The photo above is what 4 of these cards looked like when I started.
This one is quite simple. I let the fabrics do the talking and added some yarn along the horizon line.
OK, maybe it's not quite a horizon but I live at the edge of the Blue Ridge mountains so felt like I needed some mountains in the series. There will be more!
I had not intended to make a tornado but after I fused all the strips on I noticed a dark area in the 3rd strip and it just begged to become a tornado.
I think this one is very happy. For the ground I stitched a series of zig zag rows with the size of the zig zag increasing with each row toward the bottom of the car.
A winter scene! I'm considering some form of this design for one of my Christmas card designs.
I liked the Horizons 1 design so much that I made several more to use for birthday postcards.
Here are some backgrounds on some new cards for the next set. Hopefully it will not take me 2 more months to get back to this series. But I'm not going to stress about it if it does.
