I had a very productive weekend and I have nothing to show for it! I spent all day Saturday working on my Paula Nadelstern quilt and got farther along with it than I expected. I hate working up to the last minute of a deadline so I'm pushing myself hard to get this one done well ahead of schedule. There's nothing like this to create focus! I had football on the TV in the background and I just worked on this quilt. I didn't let anything else distract me. I should work like this more often! It makes me so much more productive. I wish I could show you the progress but I can't. I should show you the disaster that is my sewing room. There's fabric and stuff everywhere but there's lots of productivity going on.
I did take Sunday off and went with my cousin to visit her parents in Martinsville. They are in their mid-80's and still going strong and living VERY independently. I don't ever visit the Martinsville area on my own so I like the opportunity to make the day trip to see my Aunt and Uncle. Debra likes the company for the 3 hour drive....each way. So it's 3 hours there, a 3 hour visit and a 3 hour return trip. It's amazing how we are able to fill that 6 hours in the car with endless things to talk about.
I did get this from my Aunt. I think it was a pillow front. It was embroidered by my Grandmother. There's a matching one that Mom has. This one is embroidered with Grandma's initials and the other is embroidered "February", her birth month. I don't have a lot of wall space in my sewing room but I think this will fit. My Aunt took this off the wall to hang a framed puzzle! lol! Her loss, my gain. I admit that this isn't a great work of art but Grandma will not be doing any more embroidery and it's better than a framed puzzle.....although the puzzle was very pretty.
Time to get back to working on the Paula quilt. Check back tomorrow for something fun! In the mean time head on over to Patchwork Times to see what everyone else is doing.
