Are you wondering just how long I can drag out this project? It's even starting to get on my nerves but I'm not doing anything else until it's done. Fortunately the end is in sight.
There are 4 of these leaf motifs on the border and I've now quilted filler around 3 of them. I'm doing each of the 3 filler patterns in the border just so they are repeated. Once I get the 4th one done the rest of the border will be pretty quick and easy.
I have to admit that I didn't sew one stitch yesterday. I had a fun day out buying a cool anniversary gift for Chris. Even cooler is that the visit to make the purchase might turn into a neat opportunity for me this fall. The whole adventure took about 2 hours more than I expected and then I came home and completely forgot that I was supposed to go to our quilt club meeting last night! I hate that I missed the meeting but I caught up on a few work things so I was ready to start dyeing this morning. Maybe I can quilt that 4th leaf tonight.
Let me leave you with this adorable little applique bud. My friend, Becky, won one of the bags of little scraps that I gave away a few weeks ago. She was thrilled to get it and told me she was having fun looking through them. She sent me this to show me how she uses them. She positioned her bud piece perfectly along the soft edge of the pink dye. Is that cute or what?
