You already know that I live by lists. When I was working in the corporate world I had a Monday list for the work week and a Friday list for my time on the weekend. For the most part I still keep the same routine. I try to do all of my dyeing business work during the week so that I have most of the weekend to actually sew. I try to address my weekly goals with my Design Wall Monday posts and now I'm going to try to discipline myself into sharing my weekend plans to keep me honest.
Do you make a weekend creative plan? Are you interested in sharing it publicly? If so, join me each Friday by sharing a link to your own Weekend Plans post. To make this a sweeter deal every Monday I'm will to draw a name from the participants and send the winner a free fat quarter of fabric.....to anywhere in the world.
Since I'm winding down Thankful Thursday to a less regular event I wanted to keep a giveaway of some sort going and thought this might be fun. We'll try it for the rest of the year to see how it goes.
Are you interested? If so, get ready for next Friday!
Now for my plans for this weekend.
I haven't sewn a stitch in 2 days and that's a real bummer for someone who is supposedly "retired". I have been doing the next best thing and dyed over 40 yards of fabric this week.
This is only about a third of it. With some luck and a lot of discipline I will have it all ironed today so that I can sew the rest of the weekend.
This weekend started out with 2 great options. One was to go to Herndon to see the Sacred Threads exhibit and meet up with fellow bloggers. Alternatively I'm supposed to be at Sewing Friday and Sewing Saturday with my Country School Quilters buddies. But we have guests checking in every day this weekend so I need to be here to help get the guest house ready and to greet the guests. That means that I'll be home all weekend and I can make that productive too.
Egads making postcards is so messy!
After that I will be ironing 42 yards of fabric. My other goals for the weekend are to finish the quilting on that darned wall hanging, spend Sunday afternoon playing with glass and Saturday afternoon cleaning the basement. Yep. It's time to sweep up the dust bunnies. I've got a huge order of undyed fabric arriving this week so I need to make space for it. Besides it's just time for the dye studio to get a good cleanout.
If I have any time left I will work on some of my horizon postcards.
What are you doing this weekend?
