I had such hopes and a great plan to be able to spend a couple of hours working on the guest room quilt yesterday. I got everything done from my to-do list and was getting ready to sit and sew. Then the phone rang. Chris has been doing some research on our homeowners insurance and I've been very happy to not be involved. I knew as soon as the phone rang that it was the insurance people finally calling back.....and Chris wasn't home. I was on the phone with them for an hour and a half! When Chris came home and realized what was going on he laughed.
So no time at a machine yesterday but I did do a little sewing while watching TV. Because of football, I tend to watch a lot more TV in the fall so that's when I get to do most of my hand work. Usually I work on my Cracker Box ornaments in front of the TV but I'm a little bored with the one that I am working on. It looks like this and, no, I didn't pay that for it. I bought mine long before it was retired. I'm getting a little bored making dangly things so I got out my flower applique blocks and worked on those during Major Crimes and King & Maxwell. I finished the red one last night and started the next one. Each block seems takes about 3 hours to stitch. These are the 3 new ones since I last posted. I think I have about 25 done and about 30 left to go. I love these blocks and don't think I will ever get tired of working on them. The stitching makes so much difference, it's amazing.
Today I'm off to interview a new doctor, visit a friend who had surgery last week and run a bunch of other errands. Hopefully there will be some sewing time too. Real summer is here so it's HOT and HUMID. It's not climate change, it's summer in Virginia and I'd prefer to stay inside with the lovely air conditioning. At least I only have to be out in the oppressive heat one day this week...if I get everything done today.
