A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to quilt 2 almost identical quilts.4
We do a monthly block program at Country School Quilters to accumulate blocks for veteran's quilts. It's a great way for people to participate without the burden of making a whole quilt. Becky prepares great instruction sheets for us and collects the blocks. These are the blocks that she collected in May and she had enough for 2 quilts.
I decided to quilt each one differently jsut to see what they look like. One is quilted with straight vertical lines and the other is quilted with free-motion echoed swirls.
I was surprised at how much difference it made to the quilts. I really thought it would just blend into the background and be almost invisible. I liked the swirled one best but Chris liked the straight one best which goes to show that no matter what you do someone will like it and someone will not like it!
I got in a couple more hours of quilting yesterday on the wall hanging. Today is full of chores, including PC shopping. I hope to get back to doing some quilting tonight.
