First I will update you on our hell week. Chris got to stay 2 nights in the hospital but he's home now and cleared to do anything he wants. He will take blood thinners for 6 months and that's it. Things are getting back to normal and I was so happy to be able to sit down last night and play in Electric Quilt!
Thank you for all of the great feedback on the Indian blanket design from last week. I like that one enough that I am going to play with it some more and try to improve it and maybe there will be a project or kit in the future.
Since I offered the Back to Square One kit in December I have been thinking about making quilt kits a regular item in the shop. I have some beautiful art quilt kits designed by Deb Levy and Terri Stegmiller but I think I need some quilt kits too. That led me to a search for patterns and that's where today's quilt projects come from.
But first, if you are interested in the fabrics in the palette you can get all of the information here.
Are you familiar with the patterns designed by Dereck Lockwood? Check out his website, he has some beautiful designs. Today's projects are from his Starscape pattern.
Here's his design
and here are my versions
Which is your favorite? Have you ever made one of Dereck's patterns? I'd love to hear about your experience with them.

I like the very last one and no I have never made one of his.
Glad Chris is ok and back home with you

I have always been partial to the diamond sashing; it adds dimension and a little something more to the design. Have not done one of Dereck's designs but am heading over there now to look at them.

Are you cutting the pattern pieces in your kits or just supplying the fabrics?

Starscape 1 & 3 are my picks, but I like all of them. Sounds like you are both off to a good start for the new week!

I'm not familiar with Dereck but that is a gorgeous pattern. So happy to hear the mister is cleared for duty!

That is scary, glad Christ is doing better now. I have been fighting it off myself, doesn't let go. I take cats claw which also thins the blood, so I guess I am safe, lol.
I really like the first one with the yellow and orange combination, really stunning together.

Very interesting design and love your colour changes ... cannot pick a favourite though!

I am seriously in love with that pattern, and your renditions!
Do you know if the size can be reduced down to smaller than 60" square since you had a chance to play with it on EQ? I am wimp quilting on a domestic machine... I normally don't quilt quilts larger than 60".

Yikes! I'm glad he will be OK.
I love when you show the different colorways. It's amazing how much switching colors changes the whole look of a piece. I'm partial to the one with the dark background.
