Pendleton Fabric Palette
Fabric Palette for February 5 - May 5
One of the things I learned at the Chihuly exhibit last month was that Chihuly collected native American trade blankets. He has over 700 of these blankets and a majority of them were made by Pendleton Woolen Mills. One of the rooms in the exhibit had a huge wall displaying well over 100 of these blankets. It was an amazing display of color and pattern and it was very inspiring.
What a wonderful surprise when my friend, Kim, gave me this book, Chihuly's Pendletons, from the exhibit. It's a beautiful large format book with wonderful photos of many of the blankets in Chihuly's collection. Many of them are likely to become inspiration for future color palettes.
The Pendleton color palette is based on this blanket photograph. I loved the bright reds and oranges against the pale green ground. I hope you will like it too.
This palette has 2 new color gradients and 5 different color value packs.
Throughout the month I will share some Electric Quilt images and other projects using this palette.
Details about the Palette of the Month. Each of the palette fabrics are available for a special price of $15/yard (below the normal $18/yard price for my hand dyed fabrics).
