Our fun with friends has, unfortunately, ended. We have had a busy but fun couple of weeks and it was great to have Ian and Laura here from England. Now I have to get back on schedule and what better way to start than with some quality time with a couple of hours play on EQ. Today starts the new palette, Transcend, and it gives me some lots of color to play with.
You can see all of the fabrics in the palette and get ordering information here.
Today's quilt is a quilt from the March 2012 issue of American Quilter. The quilt is called Tapenade and was designed by Christine N. Brown, the editor of the magazine.
I started with the quilt as designed but using my colors.
I had to do a pink and purple version for the young girls.
Then I replaced the border with a gradient border.
Next I decided that I didn't like the alternate center block so I found some other options in EQ. I like this next one better and the only thing I changed was the center alternate block.
With the next quilt you can see why I added a bit of yellow into the palette.

The one with the yellow really rescues it.
