I think this is the first block that I have modified. I just could not make the flag layout work with the symmetry block so I left off the corner and used only the bars. I tried to make up for it with the shibori block. I custom dyed the star and the stripe fabrics just for this block and I love it!

It uses only 3 fabrics.

I love that flag block :) how appropriate for Veterans Day!!! I am enjoying Barbara's blocks. I think the stories are even better than the blocks!! She is good at that sort of thing...you are good at custom dyeing :) Glad to see you are keeping up. I have been making a miniature group of civil war blocks for a LQS. Fun and challenging, or so I keep telling myself working on those 4 1/2 in. finished babies.
