Yesterday I told you that Anne came over to quilt two of her quilts this weekend. I got quick photos of them before she left.
This one went together pretty quickly. She used a very large Apple Core template like this one. As you can tell, she loves skulls! She was making this for herself but it became someone else's before it was done. The big template is great because it shows off the fabrics really well. This would work great for Amy Butler, Kaffe Fassett or other large print fabrics. We learned that you should always starch fabric that you are going to cut with one of these templates. Every edge is bias!
This hexagon quilt is made with French General fabric. She had a couple of layer cakes of the fabric and we found the free Hexagon Park pattern on line. It made up into a pretty quilt and the instructions are well written. However, Anne says it was a LOT of hassle for the end quilt. This one took her a long time to make so if you decide you need one of these quilts....you have been warned!
She quilted both of the quilts with pantographs and on the skull quilt the bobbin ran out of thread at the very end of the quilt! That has NEVER happened before. I always run out 6" from the end.
