Wow, the week is jsut beginning and I feel like I am already behind! I had so much planned to accomplish over the weekend but the only thing I have to show for the 2 days are my Grandmother's Choice blocks. I'll show the Saturday but I suppose the bright side is that I now know I can piece pretty much any block that Barbara throws our way! I've never hand pieced a block before but now I've hand pieced 2 blocks with loads of bias shapes.
I even tried to have some cookie therapy after I finished the blocks only to discover that the stove is not working. It flips the breaker every time I turn it on. I took the cookie dough to my friend's house (where I was going for dinner already) and baked there. This is the 3rd appliance breakdown in the last month and the repair costs are already over $450. Hopefully 3's the charm and we can have happy appliances around here for a while.
For the first time in a long time I actually have something on my design wall. I had hoped to be further along on this but I do have a few more arcs done and I hope to work on it some more this evening.
I am making a little progress on this. I am at the halfway point on the quilting so hopefully there will be some binding going on my this weekend.
Speaking of binding I'm about half done with the binding on the patriotic quilt and maybe I can get that finished this week too.
I"m not making any promises though. I have a couple of big commitments over the next 3 weeks so it's going to require a lot of efficiency and focus!
While I am working on my efficiency and focus, check out what everyone else is doing this week over at Patchwork Times.

Vicki, I've got a friend that had similar appliance issues--and it turned out to be their transformer was giving them too much power and frying their electronics (washer, dryer, dryer, modem) It was the 2nd dryer that made them think something else was going on. The power company was amazed, because usually when transformers go, they give too little power...but if you're having a lot of appliances crash at once, it might be worth calling the power company to check things out.
