You know I am always obsessing over how I spend my time. I have leader-ender projects next to my sewing machines that I also use to fill 5 free minutes. I have multiple projects for TV and travel time. A few months ago I started dedicating an hour (almost) every day to longarm quilting and have completed a surprising number of quilts.
But I still feel like I waste a good bit of time. This week I decided to see what I could do in 30 minutes. Don't we often have 30 minutes between TV shows or 30 minutes before dinner or 30 minutes before bed? It seems like such a short amount of time that it's not enough to accomplish anything.
I was wrong.
I can make a couple of blocks from my leader-ender project which motivates me to make more HST blocks because I really like this.
I can take this overwhelming pile of sun prints and monoprints and with a roll of Mistyfuse and some Stiffy (or Timtex)
prefuse the prints and some card backs and cut out 2 dozen card bases. Now I can easily make a couple of cards in the next 30 minute window.
I can square the back and get a quilt loaded in 30 minutes. That one surprised me.
I can also plan a new project.
Uh oh. That was not supposed to happen.
More about this on another day!
What can you do in 30 minutes?

The must be something in the universe telling me I need to manage my time better! I'm working on it too! Question, How do I get through all my blog reading faster?

Your are accomplishing lots more than me but my motto is: Time you enjoy wasting is not a waste of time.

What can I do in 30 min? Catch up on your log and sit for 20 min wondering how I can change in order to be able to accomplish as much as you do! lol Have I mentioned lately how I so want to be like you when I grow up? You are amazing! Off to get some accounting done for Fibre. Not my favourite thing at all! Cheers!

For me, 30 minutes is a big hunk of time during the week. I try to get things done in 10-15 minute hunks and find it can be very productive as long as I have a clear idea of what to do. If I have to figure it out, well, forget it, I'll end up surfing the web everytime!

Vicki - did anyone like your mother, ever tell you it's okay not to be super efficient at everything? Oh, opps, YOUR mother is super efficient. Anyway, I love how organized and super efficient you are.
Have fun with your new project - can't wait to see what fabrics you add to your lovely collection of browns/darks.
I have been goofing off on the internet for the last 30 minutes, but I sure enjoyed it!

Awesome progress!

I rarely go downstairs to the longarm room unless I have an hour or more. With 30 minutes I do some piecing, make and machine stitch a binding on ( to finish up by hand later), or knit.

That is a great question to ask. I always feel like I need to wait until I have lots of time but I just need to make use of the short periods of time that I DO have!! Thanks for the reminder.

I spend a lot of 30 minute sections just thinking about doing stuff, but I'm mostly too pooped by the time I have the kids in bed to use my 30 minutes wisely!!!
