Today's EQ project has less to do with the fabric and more to do with expanding my EQ skills. I like this fabric palette so much that it has me thinking about Lone Star quilts. I did not have any idea how to draft a Lone Star quilt in EQ so I pulled out my manual and started there. Next I learned how to fussy cut fabric and to rotate fabric in a block and finally, I learned a tiny bit about drafting applique blocks.
All in all it was as good as paying for a class. I only have 3 colorways to show you but understand that these 3 designs took me 3 evenings at the computer to accomplish! I am a slow learner.
If you like this palette and wat to have some for yourself you can find all of the ordering information here. I'm not going to make one of these yet but I have ordered this pattern to make with my Warkton Lane fabrics.
Here are my first attempts at drafting a Lone Star pattern and fussy cutting the gradient into the borders.

WOW! impressive designs!

Those are the kind of designs I can admire and have no desire to make. I have never learned EQ and have been frustrated with it when I try it. I can see why they took so long to design.

GREAT designs with your wonderful palette - I can't wait to see what you sew!

Great as these look in the drawn version, the fabric version would be even better! Like Becky, I'm wondering if you're going to make one - and which it will be!

Although you won't be making this design the one you have selected is stunning.

Wow oh wow! I love them all, but I'd love to make Number three!

Those are awesome! I like number three too. I think we should have a race to see who can finish their quilt first. Ready, set,....go! (Tommyandjimmy)

These are beautiful. I really like number one....I like how the gradient fabric fades off the edges. Also, I like how the center star's points look like exclamation points at the end of each point.

I like them all, but the second one is my favorite.

I love the gradient in the outer sections on the first one; look like sun flares. LOVE EQ. These would be pretty complex to make; but you doesn't love a challenge now and then.

Absolutely gorgeous Vicki. You've inspired me to get out my manual for EQ7 and have a go at it.
