I'm sorry to bore you with my garden but I am having a blast doing my little bit of gardening every day. I especially enjoy it on days like today. We have the most perfect weather today. It's a perfect 78, sunny and breezy. We have every window open in the house. It will turn blazing hot again soon so we will enjoy today as much as possible.
My corn is tall and producing lots of ears. We will know in a few weeks if they are any good. The melons are growing under the corn and are providing great ground cover. There's hardly a weed in there. The squash and zucchini plants have done better this year than ever before. They are huge and producing LOTS of fruit. I found this recipe for Squash Soup and I'm now making it to freeze. The soup is yummy even without the onions that I cannot eat. It's also low fat.
My pet cantaloupe is growing like crazy. I hope she's going to be sweet and yummy. She has lots of brothers and sisters on other vines.
I've started harvesting some potatoes (that we will have with squash for dinner tonight) and carrots. Chris will even have a tomato soon....a real Hanover tomato. Hanover tomatoes are supposed to be very special but I can't really speak for that since I can't eat them.

Quite the farmer you are! Seriously though, there just is nothing better than fresh produce...except maybe fresh seafood!

That summer squash soup does sound interesting. What do you used instead of chicken broth? (It has onions generally - unless you make it from scratch too...) We may have discussed it before but my MIL is allergice to onions... We are going to Ruby Tuesday - salad bar...

The black bears in my area think your corn looks especially delicious and they will be over to help you harvest right after they take down my peach tree.
