I have been asked to offer shibori dyed fabrics for a long time and I'm finally doing it!
Shibori is a broad term that defines a fabric that has been manipulated in order to dye it with a pattern. Technically almost all of the fabric that I dyed can be termed "shibori". But among dyers the term generally refers to fabric that has been wrapped, stitched or folded and clamped. At least that's how I am using the term.
The fabrics that I am calling shibori take a lot longer to prepare to dye. Arashi is wrapped around a pole (usually a PVC pipe) and then vat dyed. Kum shibori is pleated and bound and Itajimi is resist dyed with shapes.
These fabrics are expensive. There's no getting around it. The price reflects the additional time required to dye them. I have them in the shop now and they will sell for $26/yard. Most of the pieces will be either half or whole yard cuts. You can check them out here. Several have already sold since I listed them Saturday but there will be more soon!
I've also added new fat quarter packs and one yard cuts. You can check them out in the shop.
