This week I'm playing with the Whirlygig block.
This one wouldn't be the easiest block to construct but I think it would make into a beautiful quilt. If you like these designs anad are inspired to make one (or any other design) with the Nelly Moser Fabric Palette you can find all of the ordering information here.
This first version is made with the blocks, no sashing and simple borders.
Then, inspired by Judy, I decided to design a couple of borders.
This is the same design in a different colorway.
Then I added some sashing and a new pieced border. I made this one in all medium and light values and I really like it.
Then I made the light inner border wider and change the color palette. I really like this one a lot.

These are all spectacular and the borders add that 'with-a-cherry-on-top' element.

Love the last two especially and their borders. That is such a simple border to construct, but really wows a quilt.

The final design is wonderful. I wasn't fond of the beginning designs at all but once the sashings were added and a more floral look appeared, I was won over.
