It's that time again! The Eagles are all nesting. Some have even hatched.
Liz got me started by pointing out that "her" Eagles at the Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge near Vian, Oklahoma have hatched. They have 2 great camera views there and the babies are growing quickly.
But there are others to watch too:
The Center for Conservation Biology (at William and Mary University) has a cam on a nest on the James River in Richmond, VA
Lots of people are watching the nest at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens. You may remember the drama from last year when the mother Eagle was killed by an airplane at the nearby airport. The 3 eaglets were moved to the Wildlife Center of Virgina where we watched them grow up and be released (one was since returned to the Wildlife Center for more development time.) It seems that the male has found a new mate this year and everyone is watching the nest for activity.
There's a nest in Decorah, Iowa with a camera and another in Maine. These are a little behind Oklahoma and Virginia in activity.

Vicki - thanks so much for all the eagle-cam links. This is fantastic! I'm so pleased to learn that the eagle at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens has found himself a new mate. We visited the Gardens in early October and took the tram tour while we waited for my friend's wedding to start. Her wedding was held in the rose garden very near this particular nest. Thanks again.

We've been following the Decorah Eagles for years. Now we'll be watching the James River Eagles, too. Thanks!
