Happy New Year! I am excited to participate with Judy Laquidara in the Color Palette Challenge this year. Judy is hosting the challenge and I'm providing prizes and the palettes. During the month I will have posts on Fridays where I will talk about color. I will show some interpretations of the palette using groups fabrics from my stash and I will have a series of posts on color theory and using color in quilts and other fiber art. So let's kick it off with the first color palette.
This is a photo that I took in the V&A Museum in September. These are tiles from an English ship made in 1882 by Architectural Pottery Company, Poole, UK.
I did not include black and white in the palette colors but, of course, they are an important part of the overall color scheme. In your interpretation you can use some or all of the colors of the palette. When Judy posts the February challenge she will also post a link box for your entries for the January challenge. So you have a month. Have fun!

Beautiful colors...
May we have your permission to copy your photo with a link to this post for when we post about our challenge quilts?
thanks,
Liz
P.S. I posted this question on Judy's blog since I was unable to make a comment. Since I moved to another PC, it must be an IE9 issue. Hmm, now to figure out how to fix that issue.

What beautiful tiles. Love this first color scheme. Am I understanding it correctly that it is fine to add white or black? Now I'm looking forward to your discussion on Friday!
