Are you considering joining the Color Palette Challenge in 2012? Judy is hosting it and I'm providing the palettes and prizes! I hope you will consider joining us. I think it's always a good exercise to work with colors that aren't your "go to" colors. Each month when the palette is revealed I'll show some color combinations from my commercial and hand-dyed stash to help boost you along.
Judy is so excited that she's already practicing! I've been thinking about what kind of projects I want to do for the challenges. I already know that I won't have the time to do a quilt each month....unless it's a baby quilt. I am thinking about doing placemat sets but I'm also thinking of postcards. Who knows, maybe a different kind of project each month. Cheri is going to use the challenge to make AAQI Priority quilts. I think that's a fabulous idea!
What about you? Are you going to join in on the challenge? If so, what are you going to use as your challenge project?

I've just discovered this challenge and I'm really looking forward to it. I'm not sure what to make yet. Maybe I'll let the colours inspire the projects or maybe a journal of some kind...Thank you for posting about it:)

I am joining, and I'm going to make cat and/or dog quilts for my vet's office. :)

I am going to join the color palette challenge because I am totally bored by my usual color choices.
I don't know what projects I will make because I am in the midst of a year long BOM project that takes up most of my time, but I do need to get out my color rut so I am definitely going to make something each month, even if I don't care for the palette that month!

I am!!! I have no idea what I will make - but I tend to go towards lap/twin sized quilts - so they can be used!! Either as a Quilt of Valor, or for my Tall family!!!

I'm in! I'll probably make ATCs and postcards to swap with friends. I may also create other greeting cards with my colour challenge pieces. I also love making little art quilts for these challenges. Time will tell :D

Dreaming, thinking, pondering. What to do? Just how will I challenge myself this upcoming year? I have signed up for SewCalGal's machine quilting challenge, and now this color palette challenge catches my eye. Hmmm, could I combine the two? I hate not meeting challenges, and I totally failed this year! Art Journal Everyday. Ugh, I discovered I'm just not a journal-er so maybe keeping in the quilting field would be best. So Vicki, I'll think on this a few more days before taking the jump!

So here is what I've come up with. I have a BOM pattern that I never made and I'm thinking it will work well with the color palette challenge. Maybe not as a whole quilt, but mini wall hangings. And then I can practice the FMQ from the SewCalGal's challenge in the background of the BOM. So now I'm challenging myself by combining all three! Looking forward to your first color palette!
