Geranium Fabric Palette Projects

Working on these palette designs is having the desired effect....it's getting me into the Chirstmas mood! I even started gathering Christmas gifts this week. Let's continue the spirit with a few more Christmas-looking quilt designs. These 3 are a little more complex than the designs from last week.

This first block is called Fool's Square

Next is an Irish Chain layout.

The last one for today is made with the Jewel block.

Journal Quilt

I'm still a week behind but I'm catching up! This journal quilt is for Sept 9. I made it using one of the sun print images that I created when Estelle and I had a sun print day. After fusing the layers together I did outline stitched the leaf in metallic thread and added 3 more leaf images. I finished is with some dense filler stitches.

I've had some trouble getting my schedule discipline back sonce I returned from vacation. I spent 2 days almost entirely on the internet catching up on things for my shop and clearing my reader. I had a good productive dyeing day but didn't get any sewing done until yesterday. Because I've been cleaning the basement.

The basement has needed a good cleaning for a couple of months and I committed to do it after vacation. What I thought would be a quick vacuum and a little reorg turned into a deep clean. I've even run the rugs through the wash. I'm not quite done but the worst of it is over. I should be back to normal by Tuesday.

My next journal quilt will be made to commemorate my trip to London. Hopefully I can get that one and the one for this week done by Friday.

 

One more applique block

Like most of you, I can leave home for more than a day without taking along some sort of handwork. For my trip to London I took along a couple of these flower applique blocks. Of course, I barely got 2 petals done! But 2 petals is progress and after a little time Sunday evening I finished this block.

Now I have 6 complete and a 7th underway and I still have absolutely no clue what I am going to do with them! I suppose I will keep making them until I get tired of them or until I come up with a new, and better, applique project. Worst case they can always become placemats!
