Another nesting season comes to an end. I will not bother this family any more. They will fledge soon and I don't want to make them fledge early. I think this was our msot successful season ever. We had 5 fledged families (Bluebird - 4, Bluebird - 4, Titmouse - 5, Tree Swallow - 5, Tree Swallow - 4) for a total of 22 babies. Last year we had 19 fledglings.
This was our first Tufted Titmouse nest too. I know it's the same thing every year but I never get tired of watching them.

I would like to know how you construct the nesting boxes and placement? Do you just nail them to a tree. My wood are full of brds right now. Do you think cardinals would use a box. I would like to build some and put them up for next yrar.
