We had our own little weather microburst this weekend but our bird families all survived the storm well.
Every time we walk past the Tree Swallow box one of the adults is hanging outside the entry hole watching what's going on. I wave at them now.
The baby bluebirds are hungry!
Some of our trees didn't fare so well.
This sycamore lost most of the limbs on the Northeast side. Chris spent about 3 hours today hauling away 3 truckloads of limbs just from this one tree. Too bad the wind didn't get the tree on the other side that we both hate.
This walnut tree didn't break but we aren't giving it high odds of surviving. Not to worry, we have at least a dozen other walnut trees.
On one side of the property many of the trees have twisted leaves like these, a day after the storm.
It wasn't horrible, mostly just interesting to see the path of the storm and annoying to Chris. He didn't ahve tree work in his original plans for the day. It didn't seem to touch a leaf on my favorite maple and oak trees!
