I've been very inactive on the internet and in "real life" the last couple of days. That's because my allergies have been out of control. It's been enough work to get enough Benadryl in me to get everything under control. Fortunately I feel better today....because Mom arrived with 5 quilts to be quilted by Sunday!
I've been practicing my feathers on this hideous quilt. I had taken Suzanne Earley's Feather Boot Camp class. It was a great class and I really learned a lot.
Instead of removing the whole thing I just cut off the part of the top that wasn't quilted and used the rest of the backing and batting to quilt up these two quick baby quilts.
These were made from leftover sock monkey fabric from a quilt I made last year. These will go to a local friend and her quilt group will add the binding and donate them to a local charity. I quilted them with a quick ribbon meander and had them off the machine in less than an hour. Two UFO's done!
Before Mom got here I loaded another quilt of hers that I've had here for a few months.
This quilt is made from more of the very many blocks that my Great-Grandmother left behind. Mom pieced it and I quilted it with the Baptist Fan template. I think this is my favorite of all of Great-Grandma's quilts that we have finished.
One down, 4 to go! Guess I better get back to work. I wonder if she's going to let me break for meals? At least I'll have lots of things to post this weekend!

is that baptist fan a panto?
I hope you are enjoying the time with your mom. I know I only get to see mine a couple times a year and next week while I'm in IN I'll get to visit with her only a few hours in the afternoon but that is better then not at all.
Sorry you are having problems with allergies, I have had problems with my sinuses for about a week now. UGH

I must be living on a different planet from you, that star is so very far from hideous. In my world I love it.

You should lend your mother out to those of us who can't seem to get much done on any given day..

When you didn't post for a couple of days, I knew you weren't feeling well. I sure hope Quilt Therapy with your Mom is helping you. Enjoy your weekend with your Mom and Willie!

Love the Baptist fans - that is what my great grandmother used mostly on her quilts.

The Baptist Fans look great. I've always wanted to try that pattern out on a few quilts.I hope you take the non-drowsy allergy medication otherwise you'll be falling asleep while the task master(your Mom) is going to be on your case. Have a great weekend and I hope you feel better!
