I needed a couple of postcards for men and I need them fast. Fast is good and men usually will not be able to tell the difference between a 1 hour postcard and a 10 hour postcard. This is the 3-cards-in-1-hour postcard. I got the idea from a sample that I saw in my favorite quilt shop, Quilting Adventures.
Get a layer of Timtexand a layer of a fun printed fabric. I liked this fishy batik from my scrap bin. There was just enough for 3 postcards. The Timtex and fabric are about 20" long and 5" wide.
I stacked the fabric on top of the Timtex and added a layer of Angelina Film. I used metallic thread and free-motion outlined all of the fish.
I took it outside with the heat gun and melted the film. Next time I think I would use 2 layers of film.
Next I added a few hot fix crystal fish eyes, fused on a back and finished of the edge with a zig-zag stitch.
Three post cards done! Easy!!

Very pretty and it doesn't look like a quick project to me.

They sure are pretty....and the fish make them perfect for a guy. They look shiny like some of the fish I've seen my DH catch.

I'll bet you didn't know that what enticed me to your blog were your fabric and quilted postcards, did you? That's right, the first time I saw one of your postcards, I was head over heels in love with them and immediately became a fan and a subscriber. This set is particularly intricate with all the metallics, but if truth be told I love them all.

These are very cute! I haven't used any of this film before. I've found that selvage postcards are fun and quick too -- I've made several as thank you cards.

What great sparkle the Angelina adds. It's a perfect embellishment for the fish.

I have yet to try and make a fabric postcard. I sure do like this one - as well as all of the ones you've shared in the past.
