I'm lovin' the monkeys! I just had to get several done tonight so I could get an idea of how it's going to look all together. It's going to be ADORABLE!!! That 9-patch in the corner is made with the scraps. The fussy cutting is really hacking up the fabric so I'm trying to cut as many 3" squares out of the remaining fabric bits and I'll put them together into 9 patches and see what I get.
Meanwhile if you have been reading my blog for more than 3 days you might expect that I am spending waaaayyyyy too much time agonizing over Judy's new BOM project. This quilt is going to be mine so I want something that I want to look at for a long time. I've decided that I will make it more complicated by dyeing all of my fabrics so I had to come up with a color palette. I've pulled my color chips and spread them all over the floor, got out the colored pencils and colored several palettes and searched Colourlovers palettes for about an hour. Nothing. I finally searched through my stash for some inspiration and found this fabric to use.
I think. This weekend I will try to dye some fabrics to match this palette with the background fabrics being the buttery yellow/oranges and red. I'll see how the samples look and make a final decision. I think it could be very pretty if the fabrics turn out OK.

Very pretty fabric. I love that color way. I am making a quilt for myself in yellows and orange reds. So warm and inviting. I will be watching to see what you've come up with. I finally chose my fabrics...well, KINDA! Check my blog!

What a cute monkey quilt. Why dont you stack your fabric like Stack n Whack to cut the pieces, then what is left over is easier to deal with for cutting your 9 patches. Just a thought.
Love the rose fabric. Can hardly wait to see the dyed fabric to go with it.

The monkies are so cute! Isn't it fun to do such a happy quilt? Your fabrics are going to be so pretty! When I was pulling my fabrics, I was so wishing I could dye what I needed. I really want to get back into dying.

What a great idea using a printed fabric for color inspiration. I'm contemplating Judy's BOM but am hung up on where to go with color.
The monkey blocks are adorable!

I love what you did with the monkey print. I sometimes see things other than what they are with printed fabric, too.
Maybe it would be similarly cool to "alter" the print of the roses--cut the roses out and applique them onto another fabric in a different arrangement?

Great rose fabric. I love that shade of yellow and the combination has a nice vintage feel.
