I am looking forward to Houston this year!! I hope you have fun there too.

I always full float the top. I have left the top rail because it gives me a visual guide to how far I can quilt. I also use it to mark the sides of the quilt. I put a small piece of sticky tape where the ends are and make sure that they are in the same place for the whole length of the quilt. (you might call it sellotape or something. Do you know what I mean?)

Sounds like you have a busy weekend planned. I'm back to ticking things off my list so I'm happy!

I bought the centering tape at MQS this year but haven't put it on. I always do a partial float except for baby quilts when I'm working from the front. I know Deb loves hers but I'm pretty sure she always does a full float (well almost always).

Ooh, a TOWA tension guage - those are really The Gadget of All Gadgets, aren't they... Not sure I'd really remove the top roller, though - what about a really big heavy quilt - might not want to do a full float with something like that (assuming an APQS machine loads in the same way as a Nolting). Someday, I will have my own longarm. Someday...

Thanks for stopping by my blog! You know, I haven't sewn anything in a long time either. I just haven't been in the mood. And this Fall weather that is not showing up a whole lot is definitely not helping. I am SO looking forward to being inside on a cold day with my coffee just sewing up a storm.
Have a great weekend!
God bless :)
