WIP - and what's next!
While watching the drawn out last night of Idol, I got some more quilting on the wonky trombone quilt!
The trombones don't look any better but the music notes look OK!
After two rows I had some pain in my left leg and ankle. About a week ago I did something to my foot/heel/leg while doing a yoga stretch. I must have torn or strained a tendon. I've been really careful about icing it and I thought it was better. Guess not! So here's the scene while I work on this post.
How do you like my fancy ice pack? Remember, I'm a function over form girl! Guess I might actually have to go to the doctor at some point. But I will try the ice and TENS machine for a while first. I can't think of anything that a doctor would do differently except prescribe ibuprofen, which I'm allergic to.
So, while I rest and as I am getting close to having the list done, I am getting antsy to start some new projects! One new project will be the miniature quilt that I designed while I was at MQX and I want to re-start another UFO. I'm just not sure which one! I've narrowed the choices down to 4 - what do you think? Which project should I start? Regardless, the project will likely become a community service quilt.
1. A string quilt - possibly for charity? I'm really impressed with the quilts being made for the Heartstrings project. Here's my big box of strings....
2. This scrappy Friendship Star that was probably started over 6 years ago! My Guild made a friendship star for a chapter quilt and I liked it so much that I started one of my own. I just didn't get very far!
3. This Confetti Quilt from a 10 year old issue of QNM! The confetti pieces are all cut and sewn. I have the background left to do. I'm not sure why I stopped this one, I remember that it was fun to sew.
4. These quilts made from my scrap bin. I made enough blocks and planned the layout for 4 quilts. I even bought all of the background fabrics! I made the first one in November. There are 3 left!
There are lots of other UFO projects but I narrowed my inventory to these 4. Tell me what to do next!

Hey I make my ice packs that way too! You should throw all the names of the projects in a hat and let someone pick one out for you.

Oh - I hope you recover soon! Hard to quilt with a bum ankle!
That confetti quilt looks awesome! But I like Sue's idea of throwing them in a hat and drawing one out....

WOW! thanks for the pic of the confetti quilt. I've never seen it before, but love it and have a bunch of 1" finish HST that maybe I could use in a modified pattern like that....

You make my head spin with all of your unfinished projects - all so much work with all that piecing. But, they will all be so beautiful finished that they MUST be done!! Yes, Sue's idea is a good one - go for the hat idea!!!

Oh, forgot to say - hope your ankle gets better. I ice my ankle the same way - a tea towell wrapped around the ice pack.

Well, my vote is for a HeartStrings quilt. I'm also ready to either start a new project or work on a UFO but it will definitely be a string quilt.

I vote for whichever project is most FUN. To me, string quilts are fun, plus you get the satisfaction of using up your scap stash. That confetti quilt is awesome. That would be a very satisfying quilt to finish. I hope the ankle is better soon.
