We lost power yesterday morning so I didn't get a chance to post my weekly WIP. Here's a quick round-up of projects underway:
1 - Here are my first two sheets of silk fusion from the Joggles.com Silk Fusion class. I just pressed them this morning. I'm looking forward to using the dark blue one in a postcard swap this weekend.
I learned a couple of lessons for the next round - 1) you really do have to wait until the paper is COMPLETELY dry before removing the netting and 2) I should hang them to dry. I laid mine on a table and the lighter one has a dark water mark at the bottom of the piece.
2) I'm still putting together the blocks for my nephew's graduation quilt. I hope to get this thing pieced this weekend. There just isn't that much left to do
3 - The Blue and White snails trail quilt is loaded on Willie. I'm doing some practice quilting of a new technique before I start quilting on the real quilt. This is the first time I have used a solid white backing so ALL of the quilting will show!
As one of my friends told me yesterday, I tend to work an idea to DEATH! So I'm just obsessed with the snails trail/square in a square block. I'm working out a fat quarter cutting plan to make a smaller block - which means I would get 2 blocks per FQ. I will probably start cutting one out this weekend. Then I see some skewed blocks coming after that. Who knows - I'll work it until I'm tired of it and then will move onto something else!
